Three legs, 15 questions, 15 countries of Africa: that is expedition #1030, flown at the Hard level. First Name the country (6 questions), then Capitals (5 questions), and to finish Find the country (4 questions).
- In the naming leg 6 countries light up on the map and you choose each name from four.
- The capitals leg turns things round: 5 capitals, and you name the country of each.
- In the map leg you tap 4 countries; a miss shows the right one and how far away you were.
At the Hard level the obvious countries are left out and the wrong options are close neighbours of the right one, or, for flags, the closest look-alikes.
Capital to capital, in question order, the route covers 65,120 km over 14 hops.
Tips from the window seat
- Name the country: If the close view confuses you, zoom out once and look at the whole region.
- Capitals: If two cities sound right, think of which country each one belongs to.
- Find the country: Before tapping, find a neighbour you are sure of and work from there.
After the landing
Finish the third leg and the expedition is stamped in your passport; the button for expedition #1031 appears right under the quiz.
